YYC Plays is a group of organizations working together to show the impact play has on our city. We work together to set Calgary up as a leader in how people play. Our goal is to show the value and importance of play, as well as increase play participation. TOPP KIDS Joined in 2018, signing the PLAY Charter at the Calgary Central Library. This commitment to PLAY and delivery of Play to the city sets us apart as we were the only Afterschool program in Calgary to sign!

Recently TOPP KIDS has been confirmed to be one of Canadas Best Employers for Recent Graduates and added to The Career Directory- Canada’s longest-running career guide for new graduates. the directory highlights for new graduates at D2L that include various training opportunities, tuition subsidies (related to the job), a wide variety of new grad positions, and various work benefits.

Legacy Award: The Legacy Award is given to an individual that has left a profound impact on the company. They are dedicated to creating a positive and compassionate culture in all that they do, and they show a next-level sense of care and investment when it comes to committing to the mission statement of TOPP KIDS, as well as embodying their own. The recipient of the Legacy Award creates lasting meaningful relationships with the children, families and staff they encounter, and acts as a mentor and role model for many. The individual takes the notion of a family-run company to the next level and hows nothing less than love and openness as an influential and irreplaceable member of the TOPP KIDS team.

Community of Care Award: The team that receives this award consistently goes above and beyond to not only create a sense of community within their team, families, and school but continues to nurture and grow these connections to expand their community feel further. Their children and families are involved in all that they do and are invested and excited about the activities are events that are offered to them. This team is also dedicated to expanding their community and global outreach initiatives. This program embodies exactly what we believe in and practice at TOPP KIDS.
Leadership Award: The Leadership Awards are designed to honour individuals who show an exemplary level of mentorship within the company. They are exceptional when it comes to communication with staff and families and are always available to assist staff members with any concerns of growth pieces they bring forward. These individuals live and breathe best practices and are committed to leading others to learn and embody these values in all that they do. These individuals are seen within the company as leaders and others look up to them and value their knowledge and presence within TOPP KIDS.

Emerging Leaders Award: The recipient of this award is a company member who, in their specific role, has demonstrated significant growth as a leader and role model for others. They are beginning to establish their leadership style, and others are receptive of this and look to this individual for guidance and support. TOPP KIDS is dedicated to the growth and development of staff and this award is designed to recognise the efforts and obvious growth of an individual as they continue learning and gaining leadership skills in their daily interactions.

Innovative Programming Award: The recipient of this award is a team who has demonstrated exceptional quality programming that incorporates all elements of the TOPP KIDS name and has done so in a manner that engages and inspires children and families alike. From introducing new and innovating STEAM activities to expanding the possibilities of initiatives such as literacy, junior leadership and mentors, and promoting an inclusive environment for everyone involved, this team has shown their dedication and passion time and time again.

Excellence Awards: These awards will be presented to four individuals who present an exemplary level of quality in the planning and execution of the portfolio they run. The tone of each day is set by how each leader approaches and carries out their planned activities for the day, and these four individuals constantly demonstrate passion, interest, and excitement in all they do. They continue to present planning that is innovative, fresh, and in keeping with weekly themes and child interests. These leaders consistently have an overflow of child interest at their activities on any given day, and they keep the engagement and attention of a group no matter how large for the duration of their activity. These individuals are widely adored in their respective centres, and we can’t wait to celebrate all that they bring to TOPP KIDS.

Accreditation promotes excellence in child care settings in Alberta and helps families choose the best care for their children. It is based on standards of excellence that reflect current research and leading practices to provide high-quality child care over and above licensing regulations for children from birth to 12 years of age.
Accreditation is available to all licensed day care centres and out-of-school care programs as well as approved family day home agencies in Alberta. Participation in accreditation is voluntary.
TOPP KIDS has been accredited since 2012.
