Before & After Care Programs

be who you want to be!

TOPP KIDS provides high quality Before & After School Care for elementary school aged children (grades K-6).

Programs are conveniently run on-site at your school, using a child led kids club based approach and S.T.E.A.M based activity planning. Our environments are designed to make kids feel at home and continue to help them develop into responsible, community conscience young adults.

We have 4 fundamental beliefs  that we practice in everything we do:

playgrowlaughandlearn

Each day we provide a selection of structured and unstructured activities, offering children plenty of choice.

Our structured activities teach children a variety of skills using the S.T.E.A.M. approach( science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics- planning through innovation and discovery) including Leadership, Respect, Inclusion and Responsibility. Our unstructured activities give children the opportunity to relax and play with their friends – and to just be kids! But that’s not all – children also love coming to our programs for the fun, the passionate staff and the great equipment.

Activities

After a long school day it is important for children to have a chance to relax and participate in the activities THEY want to do.

Our programs are based around Kids Clubs, allowing children choice in what kind of activities and projects they want to take part in. We plan many of our leader led activities using innovative the S.T.E.A.M. approach as well as integrating other types of play such as Loose Parts Play (using nature, recyclables and “loose parts” to build and innovate) as well as literacy projects like the Comic Book Project- where children become their own superhero and write and illustrate comics about their super powers and story or Active Play- physical literacy based on skill building.

Along with the planned and structured activities on offer, children are always free to simply make use of our comprehensive range of free-play equipment. We provide play spaces including areas such as Toys, Construction area, Dramatic play area, Board games, Art programs, Science & Exploration, Reading & Music centres, quiet homework areas, and plenty of physical activity and games.

All activities programmed for the coming week will be on display at the program and also are usually displayed in the weekly newsletters.

The First Day

The Program Coordinator will ensure your child has arrived at the program and introduce them to the other children and staff.

They will then be monitored closely to ensure they are relaxed, participating and having fun. On your arrival, please ensure that you sign your child in or out. Please notify the Program Coordinator if you are a first time user of the program – they will then show you and your child where things are located, introduce you to the staff and answer any questions you may have.

Policies and Procedures

All of our policies and procedures are found here in our Parent Handbook
