Numerous international examples offer guidance to British Columbia’s journey to licensed early childhood education outdoors. Representatives from the Washington State Department of Children Youth and Families will describe the early rewards of their commitment to the Outdoor Preschool Pilot project, which provides a model of licensed early childhood education outdoors from the Pacific Northwest. From Mads Bølling’s Postdoc work in Denmark, where outdoor options for early childhood education have been offered for many years, we will learn about tools developed for educators to strengthen outdoor practices. Aron Bookman will respond to liability of outdoor activities for young children.
