Get Outside and Play – Outdoor Learning Webinar

October 6, 2020 @ 3:45pm - 5:00pm
Online

“We fully believe the outdoor classroom is the best place for children to learn. We know that developing a connection for the natural world comes from both structured activities led by an adult as well as unstructured play in and with nature. So, how can this idea be more supported in schools? We believe it can be done and we’re here to help get you started.”

“During this 1.25 hour sessions, we’ll discuss and demonstrate valuable outdoor routines and the ‘best of the best’ in nature learning activities. In addition, we will showcase and engage you with the world of loose parts and nature play. We’ll help you find the balance between structured learning activities and engaging play to keep the outdoor classroom challenging and motivating. We are also mindful of the current COVID-19 realities and will provide adaptations and mitigation along the way.”

“Christina Pickles and Andrea Barnes have teamed up to deliver this session. They have worked with children of all ages in wetlands, badlands, forests, streets, and classrooms.”
