Join us as we learn about both the theory behind loose parts play, as well as the practical application of loose parts in your child care program! Participants will review the evidence surrounding why we play, the developmental benefits of loose parts and self-directed play in children of all backgrounds, as well as get into the ‘nitty gritty’ of how to collect, offer, and support loose parts play with the children in their life!
The presenter, Laura Addington, provides a unique perspective and approach to loose parts as an occupational therapist working with support services for inclusive learning at the Calgary Board of Education.
