Daniella is an enthusiastic learner that strives to inspire a passion for learning in children. She believes that freedom of expression is crucial for children to obtain through diverse creative mediums in order to foster healthy, competent, and functioning adults in society. There are many innovative and imaginative ways children express themselves. What she has observed throughout her experiences with working with children is that play is the most important element in a child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. This has transformed the way she interacts and perceives children. Daniella feels that when given the right tools and guidance, children can thrive in an environment that supports their imagination. As a result, she am an advocate for children’s right to play, as it is the best way children learn. She strongly believes her role is to not only be a caregiver but to also empower and strengthen children’s concept of self-respect.

Besides running around with children, she is working on getting her Bachelor’s of Arts degree, with the hope of continuing on to become an elementary school teacher. Chelsey MacLellan

Sr. Regional Manager

The first 12 years of a child’s life are foundational in creating the morals, values and self-esteem they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Providing a safe creative and nurturing environment for children to explore, create and discover who they are and who they long to become has always been my passion. We are all a hidden treasure longing to be known and every child deserves to be seen that way and be appreciated and loved for exactly who they are. It is Chelsey's life mission to allow exactly that.

She began her journey with children working youth summer camps where she learned a foundational relationship to learning through play, community and nature. Chelsey then continued in an integrative environment for children with special needs where again a foundation of community and play was deeply rooted in the progress of each child and the community. Having a background in Montessori teaching where children are encouraged to learn through natural play and self-exploration, the deep need and importance of leadership and self-ignition became paramount for a child to truly understand and treasure who they are. After a foundation of learning with younger children, she came to love the passion and creativity school-age children have. The way they allow themselves to truly explore and allow their inner selves to blossom.

"I am proud to say I have committed the last 12 years to working with school age children and excited to continue my journey with the children and families at TOPP KIDS."

Shamiza Mohamed

Regional Manager

Shamiza's passion for early childhood development stemmed from a young age. “I myself was in childcare for many years of my life, and I have had an amazing experience! My goal is to give children the same amazing experience that I received and help them grow into successful young adults”.

Starting off on the road of Early Childhood Education just over 12 years ago, Shamiza completed the Early Learning and Child Care Program at Mount Royal University. Beginning her work first with children between the ages of 2 and 5, she then expanded her horizons to working with children between the ages of 6 and 12. Building relationships, learning from them and fostering their growth- this is where she found her passion.

“I am a true believer in giving children a voice. They know exactly what it is that they want, and they even know how to get there! They just need the support!”

Shamiza prides herself in building strong family bonds at all of her programs!”

Larissa Hough

Accreditation Coordinator

Larissa believes that the early years are important in the life cycle of brain development and set the base for competence and coping skills that affect learning, behaviour and health throughout life.
It is important to guide young children in developing a strong sense of self-worth, self-image, value and belonging. Her philosophy is based on the knowledge that young children learn by playing and that their play reflects their continuous emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth.

She believes that children feel best about themselves when enabled to exercise their independence. Wherever possible, Larissa allows children to complete tasks on their own. Her most important goal is to have each child develop a positive self-image, and an interest and joy in learning.

With experience owning and operating her own day home and her education in Early Learning and Childhood Development, Larissa is a perfect fit in the TOPP KIDS family!
