Hello families! My name is Kim, and I am so excited to be part of your child’s Out-of-School Care journey. I’ve always had a love for working with children. Growing up, I helped care for my niece and often felt like a “big sister” to her, which inspired me to step into the world of Early Childhood Education. When the opportunity to work in this field came my way, I took it and never looked back.

I hold a Level 3 in Early Childhood Education and have been fortunate to work with children of all ages. I loved my time in daycare because the children were so full of joy, humor, and curiosity. At the same time, I really enjoy working with OSC children because of the unique and interesting conversations we share each day. My favorite part of this work is building strong connections and trust with the kids, and supporting them as they grow into confident, kind, and capable young people.

Outside of work, life is full and wonderful! I recently welcomed my first baby, who fills my days with so much joy. I’m married to my best friend, and together we have two cats and two dogs who keep our home busy and lively. A little fun fact about me is that I was born in Germany and still speak the language fluently!

I truly look forward to getting to know each of your families and working together to make sure your children feel safe, supported, and excited to come to our program every day.

Megan has been working with school-aged children on and off since 2014. She started at a 7-day overnight summer camp that she attended for 11 years herself. Since then her passion for childcare only grew. She's an Alberta born and raised small-town girl. Living most of her life in Morinville, just North of Edmonton, where she was working in a gym daycare for the last year. Living here in the past, it is thrilling to be living in Calgary again, a city easy to truly consider home. In working at the gym she realized that childcare was her true calling. She is deeply excited to be working with and growing alongside all her amazing little humans!

My name is Faith and started teaching children in 2022.
I moved to Alberta in December 2019 from Manitoba and wanted to choose a career path that impacted lives and this led me to childcare.
In my time off I like to shop and search for cool vintage home decor for my home, travel and spend time with my boyfriend and my dog Molly.

My favourite part about working with children is the opportunity I get to bring out my inner child.

My name is Rhoda Oboshenure, and I am a passionate Early Childhood Educator living and working in Calgary, Alberta. I am originally from Nigeria and bring a diverse cultural perspective to my work with children and families. I am married to Dr Kingsley and a proud mother of two children, which has greatly influenced my passion for supporting young learners and creating nurturing environments where children can grow, explore, and develop confidently.

My experience in childcare began in Nigeria at Chamber Nursery and Primary School, where I worked as both an administrator and a homeroom teacher. This role allowed me to develop strong skills in classroom management, organization, and supporting children's early learning and development.

I currently hold a Level 1 Early Childhood Educator Certificate and will be completing my Level 2 ECE Certification at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in May 2026. I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Management. I am a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Alberta, which allows me to stay connected with professional practices and ongoing learning within the field.

As an educator, I believe every child is unique and deserves a safe, inclusive, and supportive space to learn through play and meaningful interactions. I enjoy working closely with children, families, and colleagues to create engaging learning experiences that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy watching movies and visiting friends, activities that help me relax and maintain a healthy balance between work and family life.

Born and brought up in Pakistan, I completed my master’s degree in Home Sciences. Later moved to Dubai and started my teaching career as a grade 2 teacher. My journey continued and my family migrated to Canada. I went to college to grow as an Early Childhood Educator and completed my certification. With 3 children it seemed a difficult task but my passion for this field supported me. I love outdoors and travelling. I have travelled to Europe, middle east and many Asian countries. My favorite destination is ‘Black Forest, Germany.’ I like bike riding and exploring new destinations. I love gardening so during summer I stay busy growing my veggie garden. I like meeting people and making friends because I believe friends are an asset.

My name is Emilia. I'm a level 2 educator and will be going back to school in September. May goals as an educator is to continue to grow and be the best i can be for myself and the children. I love working with children because they are bright and full of joy and they always give a new perspective into life.

Stacy Thorne, alongside her husband, embarked on a life-changing journey when they moved to Canada in 2012, leaving behind their Welsh home. Over the past decade, they have lovingly made Calgary their new home, embracing the vibrant Canadian culture.

With a profound influence from her parents, both dedicated mental health nurses, Stacy has always been drawn to the mental health industry. Her extensive background in this field spans over 14 years, equipped with invaluable experience that has shaped her career. Stacy earned her Health and Social Care Level Two certification from City and Guilds, further solidifying her commitment to the well-being of others.

Stacy's enthusiastic spirit shines brightly as she continues her role as the Program Coordinator at Bayside Topp Kids.

Her warmth and kindness are unparalleled, making everyone feel not just welcome, but genuinely cherished. Stacy is always ready to share a cup of tea and a heartwarming conversation with anyone in need. Outside of her professional life, Stacy is a dedicated mother to two vibrant and active sons who eagerly volunteer at the school. Her love extends to her two beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, named Fudge and Rolo, who bring joy and companionship to her family.

Stacy's journey isn't confined to mental health care alone. In Wales, she earned a Travel and Tourism Diploma and worked as a travel agent, exploring the world and fostering a love for adventure. Additionally, she ventured into entrepreneurship, owning her own baby store, demonstrating her versatility and entrepreneurial spirit.

Her dedication to creating a nurturing environment and her ability to make everyone feel valued make her an invaluable member of the team, leaving a positive and lasting impact on the lives she touches.

Avelyn is a true Calgarian, born and raised in the vibrant city of Calgary. She embarked on her journey in the world of childcare after graduating high school in 2012, displaying a deep passion for nurturing young minds. Her commitment to early childhood education led her to obtain her Early Learning and Child Care Diploma in 2017, along with her Level 3 Child Care Supervisor Certificate.

With an unwavering dedication to children's development, Avelyn has been working with kids since 2010, transitioning to full-time childcare roles in 2012. Her experience spans private nannying and child care centers, where she has honed her skills in creating engaging and educational environments for youngsters. Avelyn's specialization in art activities has allowed children to explore their creativity and imagination while under her care.

In 2022, Avelyn's thirst for knowledge and personal growth led her to pursue a Graphic Design Diploma, a testament to her versatility and commitment to expanding her skill set. She successfully graduated and earned her Graphic Design Diploma in 2023, opening up exciting new avenues for her creative endeavors.

Avelyn's genuine love for all children, especially those in need of extra support, sets her apart as a dedicated caregiver. A teacher’s heart that loves making a child’s life bright. Girlie has always known what she wanted: to be a teacher. Girlie has spent her whole life staying in school since she was three years old. She decided to take Bachelor in Secondary Education major in English after she graduated from High School. Her burning desire and passion to touch the lives of children lead her into enrolling to her second degree: Bachelor in Elementary Education Major in preschool education with special Education Units. Children have a soft spot in Girlie’s heart, and this is why her goal is to be a great mentor as she works to make a difference in their lives.

Angela a mother to three energetic special needs boys . She has a passion for supporting and encouraging children, helping to develop and grow their confidence and talents. She believes all children should be celebrated for their uniqueness. Angela loves to spend her free time outside enjoying nature or pursuing her passion painting abstract landscapes. Danielle Howden, originally from Jamaica, has been living in Calgary for the past two years after moving from Ontario. She is an experienced and passionate early childhood educator, dedicated to fostering a caring, engaging, and hands-on learning environment for every child.

Danielle is thrilled to step into her new role as Room Lead, where she can guide and support both children and her team with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm. She believes in helping each child feel valued, confident, and excited about learning.

Outside of work, Danielle enjoys hiking and exploring nature with her family. Her love for the outdoors and strong family values inspire the warmth and positivity she brings into her classroom every day.

Hi! My name is Daniel, I recently completed my Bachelor of Child Studies degree, in Child and Youth Care Counselling, at Mount Royal University. I have many years of experience supporting children and youth in a variety of settings and have developed a strong passion for helping children grow, build their confidence, and feel supported. Some things about myself, I enjoy staying active, playing sports, and creating opportunities for children to have fun when I get the chance. I believe this helps in developing positive relationships and new skills. I look forward to getting to know the children and families at Topp Kids and joining this amazing environment!

Originally from Costa Rica and now calling Calgary home, Nicole is an Alberta-certified Early Childhood Educator with two years of experience working with children, and seven years in customer service before that. She is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, which she loves being able to offer families who are more comfortable in Spanish.

What she loves most about this work is watching kids figure out who they are, and getting to be part of that. She is warm, consistent, and honest with them, which is usually why they trust her quickly. Always bringing a smile and a positive attitude, Nicole is excited to be part of the TOPP Kids family as the Active Play Coordinator. She brings energy, joy, and a welcoming spirit to the role, always ready to make children and families feel welcome and excited to be part of the community. She also brings a good dose of Costa Rican pura vida spirit (pure life, positive vibes) to her work, and to most things. Outside of work she is happiest outdoors, usually with friends, family, or her dog Pineapple, who is a very good girl and knows it.

I have nearly 2 decades in the early childhood educator field and have more different hats. I'm driven by a deep passion for supporting children's growth, development and well-being as well as empowerment. I believe in creating a nurturing fun environment where children can thrive.

I was born in Grande Prairie, but have been living in Calgary since I was one. I graduated from Bow Valley College with my Early Learning and Childhood in 2012 and have been working with children ever since. For 26 years I was a Ukrainian dancer/instructor and for 13 of those years was a part of a performance group called Suzirya which gave me many opportunities to perform and travel the world.

When I m not working, I enjoy creating art such as drawing and painting doing crafts spending time with my family and friends, going on walks, and playing board games.

Hi! My name is Kate. I have been working in Education for over five years and have a Bachelor of Arts in Education, English and a diploma in Media Studies. I love exploring the world and visiting the mountains with my friends and family. I enjoy taking photos of nature, animals and anything that I think has a great story! I believe that a photo really is worth a thousand words and that we can weave amazing tales from just one photo. My goal in life and as an educator is to share my passion for writing and photography with others, because a story can explain how we feel and what we are thinking in ways that we may not be able to easily articulate just by speaking. When I'm not writing and taking photos, I am watching Hockey, reading a good book and spending time with my family.

Hello, my name is Kelsey. I moved to Calgary in 2009 before moving back to Ontario in 2011, then moved back to Calgary in 2013, just after the 2013 floods, and I am very happy to be apart of the Calgary community. I attend Bow Valley College and received my diploma in Early Childhood Education and Development. I strive to make positive impacts on the children and the families i work with.

You can find me spending my free time camping, play video games, crocheting, kitting, cross stitching, or swimming. My goal for this year is to find my place in the Early Childhood Education community, and to finish some of my unfinished crochet, kitting, or cross stitching projects.

I've worked with children since immigrating to Canada in 2010. I've been inspired by the people who instilled positive reinforcement to help me become the person I am now. I wish to do the same with every person I learn from & teach through my life. I love finding safe spaces to give people the opportunity to fully express themselves.

Ashley has been an early childhood educator for over 15 years, completing her studies through the College of the Rockies in Cranbrook BC. Ashley had worked with children 0 -5 years old for five years before moving to Calgary to become a Nanny. For the last 5 years this was her journey until she joined the Topp Kids family.

In her spare time, Ashley loves reading comic books and finding collectibles. Reading is truly a passion and she enjoys watching Hockey and cheering for her favorite New York Rangers. She also loves crocheting and making blankets.

Hello! I was born in Winnipeg, but lived and grew up in Okotoks. In my free time, I like spending time with my friends, playing board games, watching the hockey game, or just hanging out. Outside of my social life, I have spent 9 years working/volunteering with Kids Cancer Care and then continued on to completing my Child an Youth Care Diploma with Bow Valley College. My goal is to provide a safe and meaningful environment for children to be themselves, and grow in.

I moved to Calgary about 16 years ago from Ontario. I owned a Dayhome in Calgary for many years and as well as working for TOPP KIDS, I also work for the CBE. In my free time, I love to read, watch movies, and be outdoors with my Husband, Son, and our little pup Milo.

Hi, I'm Stephen. I have a background in psychology and graduated with a degree at Mount Royal University. I like getting to know people and finding out about their hobbies and interests. I find it fun conversing with others and finding different ways to relate to others. I'm a pretty goofy and easy going person and like to bring that side out in others as well. Amanda has a background in graphic design where she played and created alone for many years but she is excited to pursue her second passion of working with children. She loves the joy and innocence that children bring to our future. "I am more than ready to get my hands dirty to share the fun and laughter of creativity with each and every one of you!"

I have always enjoyed being around children and working with them. From being a summer dance camp leader when I was 15, to working as a Grade 8 teacher with Teach For India (a nonprofit organization back home), to becoming a mother of two- a wonderful journey has led me to pursue Early Childhood Education. After my family moved to Canada in 2021, I completed an ECE training program with YMCA and obtained my Level 1 License. I worked at a childcare centre in downtown Calgary for about two years. Then, I decided to pursue further education in the field, and am currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education and Development Diploma program at Bow Valley College.

Getting the opportunity to work at Topp Kids for my practicum has been an amazing experience, and I am so happy to join the Coventry Hills team to continue learning and growing!

Hello everyone, My name is Lanah, and I’m from the Philippines but grew up in Singapore. I migrated to Calgary when I was 7 years
old in 2010. I graduated in 2024 from Bow Valley College taking the Early Childhood Education and Development Diploma program. Before graduating I did my very last practicum through Topp Kids at the Coventry Location and I’m excited to be back and joining the Topp Kids team. As an Active Play Coordinator, I am hoping make a positive impact and build positive relationships for the children and the parents, and also build meaningful relationships with my Topp Kids Team at Coventry. Outside from working with kids, my hobbies include taking Polaroid photos,singing songs from musicals with friends .watching musicals, spending time with my friends and family
collecting trinkets and stationery.

Gabby is dedicated, personable, and passionate about creating a warm and engaging environment for kiddos and families alike. She graduated from Lethbridge College through the Early Childhood Education program and has been working with children for the past seven years. Over the years, she has developed a genuine passion for building meaningful relationships with children and families and creating an environment where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and valued.

Known for her kindness and infectious positivity, Gabby loves connecting with others on a personal level and is always eager to continue learning and growing in her work with children.

Outside of work, Gabby enjoys spending time at home, where she loves cooking and baking, trying new recipes, and taking on creative DIY projects. She also loves spending time with her German Shepherd, Aspen, who keeps her busy and makes sure there’s never a dull moment at home! Whether she’s experimenting in the kitchen, working on a new project, or enjoying time with Aspen, Gabby loves staying busy and finding joy in the little things.

Gabby is excited to continue building strong relationships with her team, the kiddos, and the amazing families she has the opportunity to work with. She looks forward to continuing to learn, grow, and create meaningful experiences for the children in her care.

I was born in  South Korea and in my family, we had three boys and we always played outside together. That is why I became very active, energetic, and athletic. Not having had digital gadgets at that time, I had a lot of time to play with peers outdoors and on the playground. This provided me with the opportunity to develop social skills.

Following in my father's footsteps, I studied civil engineering. After graduation, I came to Canada to improve my English and it did not take much time to fall in love with Canada because of its cultural diversity. It was a great benefit for me to experience various cultures in one country. Although I majored in engineering, I was always interested in early childhood education. That is because I wanted to make a contribution to our society by helping children become responsible adults. So I studied Early Child Education in Toronto and completed the course in 2016. My goal is to introduce various cultures to children, support their development, and positively guide their behaviors. In addition, maintaining a safe and healthy environment will be my top priority. Finally, every child has different needs and it will be my responsibility to meet their needs.

Jas grew up in West Kelowna, needing to escape her small town life she moved to Calgary for University. This is where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has volunteered at Big Brother Big Sister, Girl Guides and in schools, which pushed her to pursue her original goal of becoming an educator. She just recently graduated with her Bachelor of Education and plans on guest teaching with CBE. She strongly believes we all have the ability to make a positive impact on a child's live through small meaningful actions!

In her spare time, she enjoys lounging at home cuddling with her three fur babies, crafting or being outdoors and hiking. She's honored and excited to be apart of your child's life!

Simarjeet Kaur, who goes by Simar (simmer), completed her diploma in Child and Youth Care at Lethbridge College. Born and raised in India, she moved to Canada to pursue her post-secondary studies and follow her passion for working with children and youth.

Simar enjoys creating trusting and positive relationships with kids, believing that strong connections are the foundation for learning and growth. Simar is bilingual and speaks three languages, which helps her connect with children and families from different cultural backgrounds.

She also brings creativity into her work, from engaging activities to fun henna designs that kids enjoy. Above all, Simar is dedicated to providing a safe, caring, and supportive environment where every child feels valued and included.

Jasmine recently earned a Level 2 Certificate in April, driven by curiosity and passion for working with children. She is thrilled to play a role in their growth and development, finding fulfillment in knowing that she contributes to shaping their future.

Originally from the Philippines, Jasmine moved to Canada at the age of 9. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys unwinding through reading and has a deep appreciation for nature; though she’ll admit she’s not too fond of bugs! 

Her love for children and her dedication to their well-being continue to inspire her as she advances in her career.

Driven by a genuine passion for guiding young minds, Giulia believes that childhood should be a time of wonder, discovery, and creative expression. Her love for communication and culture led her to complete a Degree in Foreign Languages, which she soon paired with her qualification as an Early Childhood Educator. Her journey with children has taken her from supporting families as an Au Pair in England to nurturing young learners as an after-school educator in Italy. For Giulia, every child brings a unique spark to the room. She strives to build an encouraging environment where kids feel safe to explore their talents—whether that means dancing to a lively rhythm, diving into storybooks, building with playdough, or uncovering the magic of science experiments. She is excited to bring her enthusiasm to TOPP KIDS and partner with families to help every child flourish.

My name is Mannix, and I’m excited to be joining the TOPP KIDS team! I graduated from Our Lady of the Rockies High School and will be attending St. Mary’s University to pursue a degree in Education, with the goal of becoming a teacher.

I have volunteered with TOPP KIDS at St. Philip since middle school and high school, which helped me discover my passion for working with children. I’m a creative, passionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic person who loves building genuine connections and helping children grow, learn, and become the best version of themselves. I’m

Swati Gandhi is a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator who is passionate about supporting
children's learning, development, and overall well-being. She holds an Early Childhood Educator Level 3 certification and has a strong interest in creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. Swati believes that every child is unique and learns at their own pace. She enjoys creating
engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage children's creativity, curiosity, independence, and social-emotional development. Swati strives to make children feel comfortable, confident, and secure in their environment. She believes that the early years play vital role in shaping a child's future and is committed to providing children with meaningful experiences that support their holistic development. Swati is also a learner who enjoys expanding her knowledge and skills in early childhood education. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys travelling, listening to music, and preparing different varieties of food. She also enjoys connecting with people from
diverse backgrounds and brings a multicultural perspective to her interactions with children and families. Swati knows 5 different languages like English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujrati, Punjabi. Kendise is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with experience working with children of various ages and abilities. She has been an educator for the past 5 years and appreciates getting to share those small or gigantic moments of children with adults in their lives. "I love working with children because they are brutally honest. In addition I also have the benefit of seeing their development and growth of skills that they will use throughout their lives." She has also written a book "I will always remember you" helping children cope with grief, available at Indigo Canada. She enjoys exploring new hobbies and once in a life time experiences such as skydiving.

Originally from New York, Lara had lived in England and several other countries before making Calgary her home eight years ago. Living and travelling in different parts of the world has given her an appreciation for different cultures and helped shape her warm and welcoming approach to working with children and families. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in English Education (TESOL), and has spent nearly a decade working with children in early education, preschool, kindergarten, and out-of-school care settings.

From a young age, Lara knew she wanted to work with children. She began babysitting in high school and was always drawn to opportunities to support younger children through tutoring and a variety of mentoring and volunteer activities. Those early experiences sparked a passion that has stayed with her ever since and led her to a career she truly loves.

Lara loves creating environments where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn, play, and have fun. She enjoys getting to know each child's unique personality and believes that building strong relationships with children and their families is one of the most rewarding parts of her work. Watching children grow in confidence, discover new interests, and celebrate their accomplishments is what she loves most about being an educator.

Outside of work, Lara enjoys travelling, spending time with her husband and friends, staying active, and exploring new places whenever she has the chance. She is excited to be joining the TOPP KIDS team and looks forward to getting to know the children and families while creating a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment where everyone feels they belong.

Arsh was born and raised in India and moved to Canada in 2016 for her higher studies. She has been an early childhood educator for over 7 years, completing her Child and youth care diploma from Lakeland College in Vermilion, AB. She has been with Topp Kids since 2018, her time working with kids until this point has been a wonderful experience, providing her with great happiness and satisfaction. Arsh's Goal is to continue growing in this Field. In her spare time, Arsh loves to listen music, read books and go for a walk. She loves sports so you could find her playing basketball, soccer with children at the program.

Allan was born and raised in Calgary. He is currently completing his studies at Mount Royal University for his Child and Youth Care bachelors degree. He started at Topp Kids as a practicum student and he fell in love with the environment and what the organization offers to youth and opportunities for staff and practicum students. Allan in his leisure time likes go out for walks in parks and goes out shopping for further build his Transformers and Hot Wheels collection. Allan is looking forward to creating a fun and safe environment for everyone at Topp Kids!

Hello, my name is Javeria. I am originally from Pakistan but living in Canada since 3 years now. I am currently working towards my ECE level 1 but I do have a diploma from Dubai. I also have tons of experience working with little kids. I also do have two kids of my own. My school kids used to like me because of my kindness and gentleness and most of the kids around me are very comfortable with me and want to come back. My ultimate goal is to give all the kids safe and enjoyable environment while providing them with emotional and social skills.

Hello! My name is Charlise Wight! I’ve worked in childcare for almost 5 years now and working with children is my passion! I love being able to connect with the children and meet the needs of the children to see them reach their full potential! I’ve studied all my Early Childhood Education studies at Bow Valley College.

I’m a huge outdoorsy person if I’m not creating fun experiences in the classroom you can catch me outdoors in the mountains with close friends and family exploring nature. Hi Everyone! I'm Sarah and I'm an Active Play Coordinator. I'm over the age of 30 and I live in Calgary with my amazing boyfriend Matt. I'm a die hard Toronto Raptor fan and I'm sure you will spot me wearing gear throughout the season. I am currently attending Bow Valley College online and to get my level 2 ECE certification. I love working with kids and planning fun activities and projects for them. I'm a proud auntie to the sweetest nephew and nephew to be. Outside of work I love spending time with my boyfriend, my family and running my Etsy shop where I get to make fun things for teachers to se in their classrooms. I have a university degree as well as an ECE certificate and I hope to be able to use my knowledge and experience to help me in my job and connect with the kids in program.

When I was 3 we moved to Tehran and since my parents were both working and my brother and I didn't like going to daycare my grandmother moved with us too so she can take care of us. At 18 I took university entrance exam and got accepted in beheshti university. a prestigious university in Tehran I got my bachelor's in Chinese language and culture and after that I immigrated to Canada. I got my masters degree in education from Thompson Rivers university in Kamloops. Then I moved to Calgary

My name is Saniya Pathan, and I am an Early Childhood Educator (ECE Level 1) certified by the Government of Alberta. I am passionate about supporting children's growth and creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to learn.

I currently work as an Early Childhood Educator at BrightPath Kids in Calgary, where I enjoy planning activities, supporting children's daily routines, and helping them develop socially, emotionally, and academically. Kyla is a dedicated social worker, proud mother of two, and a long-time member of the TOPP KIDS family. She brings a deep passion for inspiring, supporting, and empowering others, along with a strong belief in the importance of connection, community, and meaningful childhood experiences.

Kyla believes children thrive when they are given opportunities to learn, create, play actively, explore new interests, and build confidence in who they are. Within the program, she is committed to creating engaging and joyful experiences that are both meaningful and fun. She understands that every child brings their own strengths, needs, and personality, and she works hard to make sure each child feels included, encouraged, and valued.

Her warm and welcoming nature brings a special sense of comfort and connection to the program. Kyla has a gift for making those around her feel seen, supported, and genuinely cared for. Breanne recently joined the childcare field to pursue a more meaningful role to the community and herself. Which she is looking forward to pursue with TOPP KIDS! She loves bringing a positive and fun environment, making sure everyone is engaged and feels involved. She enjoys walking her dog, challenging herself with starting art like drawing, and listening to music. She is looking forward to meeting families and leaving a positive impact to everyone she meets!

Megan has been working with children for over 8 years in various child care positions. She has worked as a preschool teacher, behavioral aid, educational assistant, active play coordinator, room lead, summer camp coordinator, tutor, program coordinator and private respite care worker! This is Megan's fourth school year at Topp Kids and she is so happy to be back as program coordinator. Her goal this year is to incorporate a wealth of community, growth and fun! You can always find her smiling, dancing, singing and enjoying her time with the kiddos!

Linda is a graduate of the Early Childhood Education and Development Studies program and is currently enrolled in the Bachelors of Professional Arts in Human Service program. Working in this field has always been her passion due to the love, care, and support she has for children. So, with her intentions of acquiring more skills in order to be a positive professional educator, she looks forward to creating play experiences in such a way that encourages and facilitate the overall growth and development of the children.

Chloe has been working on and off with children for the past 12 years. She obtained her Level 1 ECE in 2011. Chloe has worked in retail and merchandising but found her passion was working with children. Watching children grow, reaching their milestones and goals gives Chloe fulfillment and a great sense of joy.

In her free time Chloe enjoys spending as much time as possible with her nieces and nephews (and cat). Puzzling, embroidery, painting, and gaming are all things Chloe enjoys doing for relaxation.

I am returning to TOPP KIDS after a hiatus and am SO happy to be coming home! I have worked with families, children, and youth for my entire working life since I was 16. I adore watching children learn on their own terms and absolutely love it when you can see something click in their brains. The infinite potential and capacity in children are what draws me to them again and again.

I am originally from Vancouver British Columbia and found myself settling here in Calgary In 2008. I love my two daughters, my two cats and just being myself around people. I have my Bachelors in Child Studies with a major in Child and Youth Care. I have worked in many non-profit organizations throughout the years working mainly with at risk youth, mental health, addiction and homelessness. I started working with children as I wanted to be a positive role model in thier young lives. I can be assertive, but also funny and a bit of a goof-ball. I have lots of energy to share as well as being a morning person with a good strong cup of tea. I like to teach children what I know, what I have learned and to be kind. But I also like them to teach me a few things as well!

Hello, I am Teresa. I have been working with children for several years as an educator, tutor and caregiver. I am motivated to help children know they are cared for, valued and have great potential to achieve their best every day. I am married and have two adult children and an adorable puppy. When I am not at work, you can find me busy with

Marlee moved to Calgary 3 years ago from small town Stettler, Alberta to attend school and has recently graduated from Bow Valley College with her Child and Youth Care diploma. She has great passion for play therapy and outdoor learning. Marlee has worked with a variety of demographics through volunteering and practicums. She hopes to provide comfortable and purposeful relationships for the children in the program.
When Marlee is not at work you can find her at home snuggled up with her puppy watching movies or out in the mountains adventuring and camping!

I moved to Canada from the Philippines in 2016 and have been singing, hiking, traveling, and eating my way through life ever since. Hi, I'm Tenisha! With three years of experience in childcare, I absolutely love creating fun and engaging environments for kids. As the new Active Play Coordinator, I'm excited to meet new faces and ensure everyone has a great time. My goal is to foster a space where children can explore, play, and grow with joy and creativity. I believe in the power of active play to help kids develop important social and physical skills while having a blast. When I'm not at work, I enjoy curling up with a good book, spending time with dogs, and staying active through hiking. Preet is the Program Coordinator for our new TOPP KIDS program at Rosemont School. Originally from India, Preet moved to Canada in 2019 and brought with her a deep passion for supporting children, families, and community. She completed her Post-Graduate Diploma in Child and Youth Care at Bow Valley College and has spent more than four years working in child care, with a strong focus on out-of-school care programs.

Hi, my name is Hani, and I am excited to join TOPP KIDS as an Active Play Coordinator. I have completed my Early Childhood Education Level 3 studies at Bow Valley College and have experience working in a daycare, where I supported children's learning, development, and well-being through play-based activities.

I am passionate about creating fun, safe, and inclusive environments where every child feels valued, respected, and encouraged to explore. I enjoy planning engaging activities that promote children's physical, social, and emotional development while helping them build confidence and positive relationships.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, trying new foods, and collecting currency from different countries. I am excited to be part of the TOPP KIDS team and look forward to creating meaningful experiences for children and building strong relationships with families and my colleagues.

With almost a decade at TOPP KIDS, Lainey's values have stayed the same- promoting emotional safety, autonomy, acceptance and love for all TK participants. Lainey believes wholeheartedly in providing a space for kids, parents, her team members and school staff that is focused on community, connection and authenticity.

Lainey has a degree in dance from the University of Calgary, and loves sharing her love of this art form with the kids.

Lainey loves all things Taylor Swift, poetry, and creating relationships. Lainey is all about chosen family- and her TK families are this to her!

Leah has a strong passion for Early Childhood Education.

Her journey started when she was young, being exposed to early education and care through her family's private day home.

That blossomed her passion at a young age and Leah knew that she wanted to pursue the ECE field and help children grow, learn, and to help shape their minds.

In 2017, she received her first Child Development Assistant certificate and started working with young infants and toddlers moving up with them to the preschool age care.

Leah then decided that she wanted to explore the development of school age children and applied at TOPP KIDS and has been with us ever since.

She loves learning and even loves that you can always learn something yourself new from the kiddos you teach. Leah also loves attending personal professional development opportunities to continue to learn and grow as an educator and a leader.

She now is perusing her dream of furthering her ECE education and one day would love to teach kindergarten and explore becoming a speech pathologist.

Outside of TK, Leah loves going to the mountains, traveling, playing mini golf, and creating art with her Cricut machine.

Hello! My name is Shelby and I am excited to be apart of Topp Kids! I have been in the Child Care field for 5 + years and has obtained her Level 3 ECE in 2016 at Bow Valley College in Early Childhood Education.

I am always curious and excited to learn and grow as an educator and to help guide all children with all abilities to play, laugh, learn and grow.

Steve is a young man who recently joined the childcare field. He has a passion for serving kids and being a great model to them as they go through life learning and experiencing the world. He has a study background in Social Services and is currently seeking a degree at the University of Calgary. His favorite hobby is arts and crafts as he gets to explore and challenge himself in the many different areas of creativity.

Sandra is thrilled to be part of the family and looking forward to getting to know everyone. For her, creating a genuine, meaningful connection with her students, families and coworkers is one of the things she is most passionate about. After graduating with her Early Childhood Education diploma at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Sandra lived in Halifax where she graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with a Bachelor of Arts with concentration in Family Studies. Eventually she moved to B.C. where she graduated from Vancouver Film School with a diploma in Acting for Film & TV (a childhood dream of hers was to act!). Sandra is happy to combine her love of arts and working with children! On her free time, she likes exploring the outdoors with her husband and rescue dog, trying new foods or having a games night at home.

Keandra Smith is so excited to be joining the TOPP KIDS Family as an Active Play Coordinator. Keandra started her journey with TK in 2013, as a child attending the summer camp program. She then became a Mentor, Junior-Leader, and has volunteered for the past four years. Keandra has continued to come back every year to have fun, make some great memories, spend time with friends and be part of the Topp Kids Family.

Keandra recently graduated from Crescent Height High School (CHHS - class of 2021-2022). She was enrolled in the Leadership Program at CHHS where they would create and organize events for the entire school to participate. Keandra was also enrolled in the Sports Medicine Program (where they would learn about how to treat/help athletes that where injured) and she was the Senior Girls Volleyball Trainer at Crescent. This year Keandra won the Grade 12 Athletics Sports Medicine Trainer of the Year (2021-2022) Award and the Sheila Iversen Athletic Training Award.

One of Keandra’s best memories about TOPP KIDS was being a Junior-Leader and going on the Leadership Camp. Keandra said she learned how to step outside her comfort zone and how to be a supportive role model for everyone/be part of the team. People find that Keandra is the type of person who is always wanting to have a fun day where everyone leaves with a smile on their face and incredible memories to share with others. Keandra loves taking kids to the park to play new games and making friendship bracelets.

Keandra is now excited to start a new chapter here at TOPP KIDS. “I always looked up to the leaders growing up and now I get to be one. It’s a dream come true!” Keandra’s #1 goal is to have a lot of laughter everyday and to help children step out of their comfort zones and try something new in a safe and creative environment.

I’m Luke! I’ve worked in childcare previously for 5 years, as well as spending time as a farm hand, server, kitchen assistant, cleaner, and some odd jobs such as fencing and stump removal. I’m passionate about fostering caring environments for young people, with an emphasis on encouraging individual confidence, and a strong sense of self. In my free you time you can usually find me enjoying a good book, expressing myself through creative writing, or playing basketball.

Hello! I'm McKayla and I'm an Active Play Coordinator. I'm happy to be back at TOPP Kids after a short time away. I am a Level 1 ECE and believe that every child is special and unique, and that they all deserve equal opportunity and encouragement. Seeing their success and celebrating that with them is priceless.

Being born and raised in Calgary, I love that I can see the Rocky Mountains at any time. Whenever possible, I like to go for an adventure drive towards the mountains, in the random countryside, or a drive in Calgary to explore my own city! Having grandparents that live in a very small town outside Calgary, I've grown up watching the prairie go
by and seeing nature surprises in what others see as plain grassland and trees. Did you know Fish Creek Park has pheasants, coyotes, and small weasels that live there? Take some time to sit quietly and you might see them too! I am a dedicated Blue Jays fan and will forever mourn the loss of Kevin Kiermaier and being able to greet him with
"Heeeey Kevin..."

My name is Carmela, and I am an Early Childhood Educator with about three years of experience working with children. I currently hold my Level 2 ECE certification and have experience working with different age groups, including toddlers and school-age children in Out of School Care.
Throughout my experience as an educator, I have developed a passion for creating safe, welcoming, and engaging environments where children can learn, explore, and build confidence. I enjoy planning activities based on children’s interests and encouraging them to participate through play, creativity, movement, and hands-on experiences.

One of the things I value most about working with children is seeing their individual growth. I believe every child has their own personality, strengths, and way of learning, so I try to be patient, observant, and flexible in my approach. I also believe that building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers is an important part of being a good educator. I recently moved to Calgary and am looking forward to continuing to grow in my career. One of my goals is to upgrade my ECE certification from Level 2 to Level 3 and continue developing my skills as an educator.

Tyleaha Smith is currently attending Mount Royal University, where she is pursuing a degree in Accounting. She is working toward completing her degree and hopes to continue her education by pursuing her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. Tyleaha enjoys learning new things, developing her skills, and working toward building a rewarding and successful career.

Tyleaha is excited to be working with children and becoming part of the Topp Kids team. She has experience working with children with special needs, including children with developmental disabilities and children who are blind. She has also had the opportunity to be part of a Dragon Boating Team alongside individuals who are blind, which helped her build valuable communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. Tyleaha is passionate about creating a fun, positive, and inclusive environment where children feel supported, welcomed, and encouraged to be themselves. She is looking forward to learning, growing, and getting to know the children and families she works with.

Outside of work and school, Tyleaha loves spending time outdoors with her family and friends. She especially enjoys camping and quading, as she loves being outdoors, exploring new places, and going on adventures. Tyleaha enjoys making the most of her time outside and creating great memories with the people around her.

My name is Sam, and I am excited to join TOPP KIDS as an Active Play Coordinator. I hold an ELCC Diploma from Red Deer Polytechnic and am an Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator. I also have certifications in CPR/First Aid and Food Handling.

I am passionate about creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and build confidence. I believe active play is an important part of children’s development and enjoy encouraging children to be active, try new things, work together, and have fun.

Outside of work, I enjoy martial arts, going to the gym, and hiking. I am also passionate about tennis and enjoy
learning new languages, as I love discovering new skills and experiences.

Cathy has always known that she wanted to work with children and youth from a young age. Her goal has been to obtain a degree where she can help shape and guide children in achieving their goals and help make a positive difference in their lives. She has received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Child Psychology. She worked in the out of school sector and loved what she was doing and decided to obtain her Early Childhood Educator Certificate. She is excited and proud to be a part of the TOPP KIDS family. Her vision is to collaborate with parents to create a strong community of support, ensuring each child leaves her care with the tools they need to flourish.

This is Stephanie Wiigs. She has lived in Okotoks most of her life and loves the people there. Since she can remember, she has always loved helping the younger generation to become their best selves and really realize their true potential. Children truly make this world a better and happier place. She can't wait to meet your child and start thier empowering journey together.

Hi, my name is Taya! I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and will continue my studies in the Elementary Education Degree program. My journey in this field began with my favourite title-being an auntie-which sparked my love for working with children. When not working, I love to get lost in a book, spend quality time with my family and dog, and enjoy all things magical and learning. I’m passionate about building connections with children, through sharing stories, laughing, and simply being present in their day. Seeing their growth and joy inspires me everyday.

Gricelda was born in El Salvador and has lived an equal number of years in both Canada and El Salvador. She speaks Spanish and English, and enjoys interacting with children through play. Gricelda observes curiously how children learn and perceive the world around them. She also believes that adults can learn from children as well. Since September 2024, Gricelda has held a Level One Early Childhood Educator certification. She understands the importance of children’s education and believes it is essential to be a building block for children as they grow into adulthood. Gricelda is committed to helping children contribute to society in their unique ways.

Breanne grew up in a small town in Manitoba called Minnedosa. It was there that she found a love for sports and being physically active. She started to coach youth rugby and soccer programs in her community. "This inspired me to be more involved within my community and gave me a passion for working with children". She loves to foster relationships with children based on their interests and passions. Breanne values empowering the children to make decisions that allow them to explore the environment around them.

Breanne then moved to Calgary in 2012 to begin her studies at the University of Calgary, and to pursue her dream to play rugby at the post-secondary level. In 2020 she graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a leadership in pedagogy and coaching. Breanne is very involved in the rugby world, as she is also an employee with Rugby Alberta. She has coached multiple provincial female programs and is an assistant coach for the University of Calgary Dinos Rugby Team. September 2025 she is heading to England to cheer on Team Canada at the Rugby World Cup!

When she is not at a rugby field, she loves to spend time outdoors. She enjoys playing multiple sports on various recreation teams. She also adores being in the mountains and exploring new places. Feel free to give her your personal recommendations!

Jane is extremely excited to join the Topp Kids family! Jane recently graduated high school at JCS and plans to continue her studies in education to fulfill her dream as an elementary school teacher. Dance is a huge part of Jane’s life, as she began dancing at age 8 and started dancing competitively at age 12. Dance has given Jane the space to express herself and the opportunity to train at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, training under some of the best in the industry. When Jane is not at Topp Kids, she teaches dance classes, with her favourite aspects being choreographing and helping her students grow as dancers. Jane strives to build a welcoming and safe environment for all, and to ensure every single child feels seen and appreciated.

Hi, I'm Ryann. I just moved to Calgary this year after living in Airdrie most of my life. My interests have changed a lot through the year and I have found myself really intrigued with childcare and child development. Since I was little I wanted to be a teacher, but during high school, my interests steered towards medicine and the human body, which led me to St. Francis university to study health science. With the love and support from my family my career path is coming back around to working with children, following after many of my family members. I have always been an athletic individual and love to exercise, I am so excited to share my interests and start this journey with you!

My name is Madison, but you can all call me Maddy! I grew up right here in Calgary, Alberta and have a passion for working with children. I am thrilled to be starting my first year as an Early Childhood Educator at TOPP KIDS Foundation. I am bubbly, kind hearted and excited to work with children and help them achieve to their full potential. Not only do I feel as though I will be a great educator, but I am excited to learn from all your wonderful children as well.

My name is Aezle (pronounced as hazel but without the H) She was born in Philippines and grew up here in Calgary. Growing up, she always knew that she had a passion with working with children and recently came across the field work of an ECE and loving every moment of it! She hope to continue her passion with working with kids through the medical field as paediatric nurse but right now she is excited to start her journey in TOPP kids making a positive impact with the kids and their family creating a fun and memorable experience! During her spare time, she enjoys taking care of her plants making sure that they are healthy and strong, receiving all the love and care that they need. She also loves to travel and explore/learn new things such driving around, sightseeing, and discovering new places.

My name is Valeriya Korytnaya, and I am a highly enthusiastic and creative early childhood educator with a passion for nurturing young minds and helping them grow. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and ECE Diploma and over 10 years of experience working with children in various educational settings.
I believe that every child is unique and has their own learning style and pace. I strive to create a warn, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where children can explore, learn, and have fun. My approach is centered around play-based learning, as children learn best when they are engaged and having fun.
In my spare time, I love to read, listen to the music, and spend time in nature with my family and friends. I am always looking for new and exiting ways to incorporate my hobbies and interests as well as my knowledge into my teaching. I am constantly seeking out professional development opportunities to enhance my skills and knowledge.

I've spent over ten years working with children in various roles, which has always been a core part of my life. Since recently finishing my teaching degree, I’ve been looking for ways to stay involved and am especially excited to work with Topp Kids. Most recently, I spent several months teaching in Australia, an experience that taught me so much about adapting to new environments and supporting many different personalities.

I am excited to join TOPP KIDS as a casual Active Play Coordinator. I bring over three years of experience working as a childcare provider in Calgary and eight years of teaching experience in India. My background in education has helped me develop strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills, as well as genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from India, and I have also obtained my Alberta Child Care Certification - Level 1. Through my experience as a teacher and childcare provider, I have developed a caring, patient, and positive approach when working with children of different ages and abilities.

In my role as an Active Play Coordinator, I look forward to creating fun, safe, and inclusive opportunities for children to be active, learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy time with their peers. I am excited to bring my experience, enthusiasm, and love for working with children to the TOPP KIDS team.

With a strong personal foundation in childcare and a deep passion for supporting young learners, Sarah began working in the field as a part-time job during university—and quickly fell in love with the joy, humor, curiosity, and genuine connection that working with children brings. Drawing from her personal experiences, she is committed to ensuring every child feels heard, valued, and empowered to grow into their unique selves, so in the future they can overcome any obstacles they need too.

Sarah is also passionate about developing future educators. She is dedicated to mentoring both her team and practicum students, supporting their professional growth, and helping them gain the confidence and skills needed to become effective educators. By fostering a collaborative environment, she helps others grow and prepares them to inspire the next generation of learners.

Sarah holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Development and is also a certified Registered Emergency Medical Responder. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts at St. Mary’s University and is excited to pursue her Bachelor of Education in the near future.

Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Sarah is an avid Calgary Flames fan. She enjoys practicing hot yoga and playing volleyball and softball. In her free time, Sarah loves camping, exploring nature, and embarking on spontaneous trips. No matter where she goes, you'll always find her with her adventurous puppy, Echo!

Meghan graduated from Mount Royal University in 2013, obtaining her Applied Bachelor of Child Studies Degree, Children’s Mental Health Certificate and Level 3 ECE Certificate. TOPP KIDS was her first full time job after graduating University, and is so thankful to have been here ever since. She also has several years of experience working as an aide in preschools supporting children who had speech/language delays and behavioral needs. She is passionate about advocating for educators, children and families and providing a safe and fun space for everyone to be themselves. She enjoys reading, soccer, golf and going for walks with her giant 100 lb fur baby. You can also find her sipping on a Nespresso, cracking a joke or two and thrifting!

Claire has always known that childcare was the field she wanted to pursue in life; it’s not just a job to go to each morning, but her passion that is being fulfilled. She studied Child Care in Cambridge, United Kingdom, where she achieved her Foundation Degree in Early Childhood and her Bachelor of Honours in Early Child Care and Education. Not only does she have over 10 years’ experience working with children, but she also has 6 years of personal experience being a mum to her own children!

Every day is a chance to learn something new, and she looks forward to continuing her education with TOPP KIDS to develop her knowledge even further. Claire truly believes that a positive, friendly and loving environment where we can fully understand children as the individuals they are, allows them to grow into their unique personalities – being part of their lives and helping to influence their development fulfills her ambition.

Jesse is a true educator and shaper of young minds. After completing his Early Childhood Education, Jesse had started working with school-age children and never looked back. For almost 15 years his focus is to develop young minds, provide structure, and inspire children to new possibilities every day. A big fan of physical literacy and loose parts play, Jesse also holds the role of Facilities Manager at TOPP KIDS as well as heads our OHS board and is also a Co-Founder of TOPP KIDS.

Maggie was born in Hong Kong and moved to Calgary, Alberta, in 2012. She graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Maggie began her journey in social services in 2017, volunteering as a Spring Camp volunteer and discovering her passion for working with children and youth. Later that same year, she joined the team as a Children and Youth Program Coordinator.

Since then, Maggie has coordinated a range of programs aimed at supporting children and youth, including Spring Camp, Summer Camp, Afterschool Program, and Youth Mentorship Program, among others. She has also led initiatives to train young adults in mental health care and life skills to better support their peers. With a strong background in working with minority populations facing mental health challenges and family issues, Maggie brings over half a decade of experience in children and youth services and specifically in mental-health-related roles. Known for her community-focused leadership, Maggie has been instrumental in developing and expanding several key TK programs.

I began working in the early childhood education field in 2011 and I have had the opportunity to work in several different roles including Before and After School care, as a Preschool teacher, and in a management/leadership role. I love getting to know the children and their families and have found that I learn from them just as much as they learn from me. Working with children is inspiring to me because I enjoy seeing the world through their eyes, it allows me to rediscover the joy and magic in this world. When I am not working, I can be found building things in the woodshop, hiking or camping out in the mountains, or paddling across a lake with my husband and daughter.

Hi, I’m Kate! I moved to Calgary from Hong Kong two years ago. I graduated with a bachelor degree of broadcast journalism, but my career took a turn into public relations where I worked with a Public Relations agency, the Fairtrade Hong Kong Foundation, and Gammon Construction Limited. I focused mainly on event coordination, media relations, and complaint management.

Even though I’m brand new to the childcare sector, I’m excited to bring my skills and experience to the TOPP KIDS team and contribute however I can!

Camie has been working with children in multiple settings for the last 17 years! This has included several years working in Out of School Care, as a teaching assistant, and in Childcare management. Camie loves working with children because they're funny, spirited, and creative! She loves building relationships with children and their families and connecting them to their broader community. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communication and culture, a diploma in children's literature, and her level 3 Alberta Childcare certification.

Camie is a horse and outdoor enthusiast! She loves spending time with her two miniature horses, or hiking, camping, and kayaking. She also loves to bake.

Camie hopes to build strong relationships with children and families in our programs, and be part of the TOPP KIDS fun!

Jasmin was born and raised in the Philippines. She has a degree in Bachelor of Science in International Travel & Tourism Management. She used to work with Emirates Airlines before moving to Canada in 2015. She started working with children in 2017 when her current work suddenly closed. From then on, she discovered that her passion is seeing families and children grow and have fun. She quickly found herself excelling and moving her way up as a Program Director. Her commitment to understanding children's development showed in pursuing her education further through Bow Valley College. She prides herself as an avid learner.

You will find her taking care of her houseplants during her free time. She also loves camping and going on road trips with her friends and family.

I have recently moved to Airdire, and am so excited to continue with passion for supporting children, family's, educators and community with Topp Kids. I am a Registered Social Worker with a deep passion for supporting children, families, and educators. With a background in early childhood mental health and social/emotional development, I’ve spent the past 5 years working as an Emotional & Wellbeing Specialist in the Edmonton region. I use the Pyramid model of Social and Emotional development to guide my practices. I thrive on building meaningful relationships, creating safe and inclusive spaces, and helping others grow through empathy, creativity, collaboration, and many laughs.

Whether I’m facilitating a professional development workshop, coaching a team through challenges, or supporting a child with big emotions or exceptionalities, I lead with compassion and a strengths-based mindset. I truly believe that small, intentional moments can have a lasting impact — and that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

From a young age, I have witnessed the transformative impact that school-age programs can have on a child's life, and I feel truly blessed to now foster those vital connections between caring adults and today's generation.

Through my work across North America, I have had the opportunity to create ELCC & Community Development—a new networking and resource platform designed to empower Early Learning professionals. This initiative provides them with the tools they need to discover their own greatness, fostering personal and professional growth within our community. My experiences, coupled with a background in service management, corporate training, business management, and an insatiable quest for knowledge, have honed my ability to offer a unique and enriching learning experience to Early Learning professionals and families alike.

I am blessed to continue to contribute meaningfully to our sector and have become a valued voice in our community. Family is at the heart of everything I do—not only my own family but also the extended "family" I build around me within the sector. This sense of community drives me to cultivate strong, supportive relationships that uplift everyone involved. It is this dedication to nurturing both personal and professional bonds that fuels my commitment to making a lasting, positive impact in the early learning community.

I am deeply passionate about delivering exceptional results for our Sector, our professionals, their organizations, and the children they mentor. In the Early Learning community, I currently Chair the School Age Care Directors Association (SACDA), Chair the annual IGNITE School Age Conference, and the founder of the Lights on Afterschool Alberta initiative."

Our Operator, Cody has lead the TOPP KIDS organization since 2012. He has been instrumental in every aspect of the organization's growth, helping to lead, develop, and expand the organization into what it is today. As a Top 40 Under 40 honoree, Cody brings with him a wealth of entrepreneurial experience, owning previous successful small businesses along with his background in Early Childhood Education, Hospitality Management, and corporate training. As a father of two, husband,  Afterschool Care advocate,  and committed child care provider, Cody is focused on making TOPP KIDS the highest quality childcare company in Alberta and an employer of choice for sector professionals, as well as helping guide and create a new standard for School Age Care in Alberta.

With over 20 years of experience in the child care and early learning sector, Chelsey brings a deep passion for people, purpose-driven leadership, and hands-on field knowledge to her role as Vice President of Programs and Organizational Strategy of TOPP KIDS Out Of School Clubs / Foundation and ELCC.

Her journey with TK began in a truly unique way—through a chance meeting in a Starbucks with Cody, the second-generation owner of the family-run organization. At the time, TOPP KIDS was just beginning to expand beyond its original three core sites, and what started as a conversation quickly turned into a career-defining opportunity.

From her first role as an Assistant Coordinator at Prince of Wales School, she stepped into leadership within a month as the Program Coordinator at St. Philip Fine Arts School. There, she helped grow the program to over 75 children—one of the company’s early expansion milestones. Her commitment to team development, program quality, and community impact quickly led to broader roles, including TOPP KIDS’s first Regional Manager, Senior Regional Manager, TOPP KIDS founding Operations Manager.

In these leadership positions, Chelsey helped shape the structure and culture of a growing organization—leading the launch of new programs, designing support systems for front-line educators, and helping TOPP KIDS evolve into a province-wide network known for quality, innovation, and heart. Even while taking four years to grow her own family, she continued to contribute to the company as Business Manager, staying close to the work and the team.

Now as the VP of Programs and Organizational Strategy, Chelsey leads TK into its next chapter with a clear vision: to remain grounded in its values while growing with intention. She is deeply committed to creating a workplace where educators are empowered and respected, and to ensuring every child and family receives the highest quality care and support.

Throughout her career, Chelsey has worked across the spectrum of early learning—including nonprofit leadership, Montessori preschool programming, and inclusive classrooms supporting children with exceptional needs. This hands-on experience gives her a unique understanding of the sector and the diverse needs of children, families, and educators alike.

At her core, Chelsey believes that out-of-school care educators play one of the most important roles in a child’s life—and she’s proud to lead a company that never forgets that.

With a background in Business Administration Finance and a passion for accounting, Maria's diligence makes her an incredible Chief Finance Officer for TOPP KIDS. She is a super-mom to two handsome young boys who constantly keep her busy! She is passionate about the TOPP KIDS vision and its growth. She is also the backbone of support to her husband, Cody, our TOPP KIDS President, and CEO.

Having worked in Early Learning & Childcare for over 25 years, Leslie experienced firsthand the incredible effect of early academic exposure and the power of play, imagination, and natural exploration in young children.

In the years that followed, she worked to modify her own child developmental approach, one that would not impose on the child’s natural desire to explore, play, and learn by experimenting with the environment. She then came up with her Play, Grow, Laugh & Learn model.

In 2012, Leslie had unfortunately been diagnosed with Lupus and her son Cody stepped in to continue building on her dream.
