Our Program
TOPP KIDS Out Of School Club at Silver Springs School is a warm, engaging club where children feel comfortable being themselves, building friendships, and exploring their interests in meaningful ways. Our program balances fun, creativity, and structure—creating a space where kids can unwind after the school day while still feeling inspired and connected.
Guided by our PLAY, GROW, LAUGH & LEARN philosophy, our programming is emergent and child-informed, shaped by children’s ideas, curiosities, and strengths. From creative S.T.R.E.A.M. activities and hands-on projects to literacy, life skills, outdoor play, and interest-based Kids Clubs, children have opportunities to explore, collaborate, and take ownership of their experiences.
Community and relationships are at the heart of Silver Springs TOPP KIDS. We focus on building strong peer connections, encouraging kindness, and helping children feel confident and capable within their group.
Leadership and independence are supported through everyday opportunities and our Jr. Leader Program, where children take on age-appropriate responsibilities, help support peers, and grow as positive role models within the club.
Active play and physical literacy are part of our daily rhythm, supporting healthy bodies, emotional regulation, and teamwork in alignment with Alberta’s Active Afterschool guidelines.
At Silver Springs, TOPP KIDS is a place where children feel at home, build confidence, and head into each evening feeling happy, supported, and proud.
Each TOPP KIDS program is also equipped with our extended Youth Community Facilitator Framework- Many children who require support with socialization can often benefit from some added groundwork in social-emotional learning. This framework focuses on acquiring and effectively applying the knowledge and skills involved in managing emotions, feeling and expressing empathy for others, making positive and responsible decisions, and effectively creating and maintaining a close group of peers, or community.
