Marie moved to Calgary 5 years ago from Quebec and recently graduated from Mount Royal University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Childs Studies with a Major in Early Learning and Child Care and a Minor in Business. She started working with children as a babysitter at 12 years old and continued throughout her life as an extra-curricular animator at elementary schools leading activities, Summer Camps, Early Childhood Settings, before and after school programs, and curriculum programming. She loves to explore new art forms, different physical activities, and new experiences. Anything that pushes her to think creatively and outside of her comfort zone makes her happy. For her, the best part of working with children is seeing the “ah-ha” moment in their faces when they understand something new or figure out a solution to a problem. Supporting them through their thinking process and working on their strengths and interests is what made her pursue a career in child care.
