TOPP KIDS provides industry-leading afterschool programs at no cost to your school. We handle everything from program administration to delivery and we give your families affordable, flexible options for care. Best of all, it’s engaging, hands-on FUN for students!
Our programs are customizable to fit your school’s needs
Looking for a program that compliments your school? TOPP KIDS will develop a program that is right for your community. With the ability to customize the experience and focus on the outcomes you want for your school, we can do it all. Let us know what you would like to see at your TOPP KIDS program. Programs are also customizable based on available space and whether you would like the addition of a kindergarten program or specific programming for your school.
Excellence in School Age Care
Our programs truly focus on providing the BEST School Age Care programs in the province. Excellence in execution is one of our key terms. We start with intense training programs for our teams, focusing on everything from child development, active and effective supervision to relationship building and best practices.
Our interview processes are also unique and allow us to filter only the strongest candidates into our programs -hiring industry professionals, physical literacy specialists, arts specialists, and teachers. Constant professional development helps keep out teams up to date with industry best practices and training and of course we look for those who are passionate about the work we do with the children.
We maintain strong relationships with Bow Valley College, Portage College, and Mount Royal University and often act as learning sites to help teach practicum students who are interested in school-age care as well as host a number of professional development events for other school-age programs across the province. We also participate in voluntary accreditation processes including the BBB and Alberta Childcare Accreditation.
Our goal is to create a new standard for school-age care across Alberta.
Family and School Interaction
Family and school partnerships are an integral part of our program. We always extend an invitation to come into our program at any time and feel comfortable in our family based environment. We like to provide opportunities for our team, our schools, parents and children to get together and interact, such as our TOPP KIDS holiday parties and events, open houses, and volunteer opportunities We also enjoy supporting school events and fundraisers.
TOPP KIDS is an inclusive program that caters to the needs of families from diverse backgrounds and cultures. We acknowledge and respect the values, beliefs, and the multicultural heritage of our society and strive to enrich our program by including diversity.
Convenience
The need for convenient childcare is growing. Having our locations based in the same school that the children attend provides families with the ease and convenience of no outside travel time, and a location close to home. That being said, only children attending that school will be accepted into the program, creating a safer and tighter knit community. We remain open for P.D. Days, Teacher Conferences and Spring Break, and run a separate Summer Camp in July and August most years.
Leadership Programs
Our Leadership Program teaches children the importance of becoming a citizen in their community. We believe that leadership in children can be nurtured and grown, helping them build confidence, learn responsibility, and find new interests. Every child gets an opportunity to be the leader of the day, and help regularly with programming and special events, growing their awareness and participation in their community. Program Features
Each of our programs are organized into specific play centers. Example: dramatic play, structures and engineering, Homework & reading area, Library and literacy, art an expression, music, technology, science, puzzles and manipulative toys, board games, and physical literacy. Large outdoor play areas with parks are also attached to every program. Each program also boasts a minimum of 1:15 caregiver /child ratio.
Arts and expression, literacy, science, multiculturalism, physical literacy, kids clubs, group games and outdoor play are all integral components of our daily programming.
Building a Better Community
We feel that it is our social responsibility and mission to provide quality child care to the community at an affordable price. We focus on providing children with the necessary tools to become leaders in their communities, along with abolishing bullying in their environments. Being an integral part of the community is important to us as well, so TOPP KIDS Out of School Clubs try to participate in local events and fundraisers whenever we can.

All of our TOPP KIDS Out Of School Clubs are fully accredited with the Better Business Bureau.
Each program undergoes the continuous, voluntary process of quality control and enhancement practices to ensure that we are committed to providing the highest standards of Early Childhood Education that exceed Alberta licensing standards.
