Prince of Wales School

Our Program

TOPP KIDS Out Of School Club at Prince of Wales School (POW) is where the TOPP KIDS story began—and the heart of who we are still lives here. Built on connection, play, and community, our program celebrates the idea that every child is unique, and that together, children create something strong, joyful, and meaningful.

Just like snowflakes, each child brings their own talents, interests, personality, and strengths. At POW, we intentionally create a warm, welcoming environment where children feel safe to be themselves, explore their curiosities, and grow at their own pace.

Guided by our PLAY, GROW, LAUGH & LEARN philosophy, our programming is emergent and relationship-based, shaped by children’s ideas, interests, and experiences. Through play, creativity, hands-on projects, outdoor exploration, Kids Clubs, and everyday moments of laughter, children build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging.

Community is the foundation of our program. Children, families, and educators work together to create a space where everyone contributes, supports one another, and feels connected. Leadership grows naturally as children take responsibility, help one another, and learn what it means to be part of a caring community.

Physical play, wellness, and joy are woven throughout each day—because movement, laughter, and connection are essential to healthy development.

At Prince of Wales, TOPP KIDS remains what it has always been: a place where children are known, valued, and celebrated—and where community comes first.

Our program is not just for those who need care but for every family that wants to see their child grow outside of school during those critical hours. Why waste time at home playing video games when there are so many fun things to do at TOPP KIDS?! Check out some of our daily PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS.

Maggie

Program Coordinator

Maggie is a dedicated early childhood educator with a passion for fostering growth, curiosity, and confidence in children. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Learning and Child Care, along with a minor in Psychology, from Mount Royal University. As a certified Level 3 Child Care professional, she brings over seven years of experience to TOPP KIDS.

Maggie’s journey with TOPP KIDS began in 2020 as a practicum student, and since then, she has taken on various roles including Active Play Coordinator, Room Lead, and Acting Program Coordinator. Her experience shines through in her commitment to child development, creative program planning, and building a strong sense of community. She believes that everything is rooted in relationships and that we all share a special interconnectedness, and that we all have something to learn from one another. Maggie leads with kindness and empathy, ensuring every child feels valued, supported, safe, and empowered to express themselves.

This year, Maggie’s goal is to build meaningful relationships with families and children, while bringing new, creative ideas to the program. She is deeply grateful to be part of such a supportive community and for the trust families place in her each day.

Outside of work, Maggie enjoys all things crafty, exploring nature through hiking, and staying active at the gym. You will often find her reading a book on the couch with her mini dachshund Willow! She embodies the importance of play at every age, and reminds herself and others that play isn’t just for children, it’s essential for lifelong well-being.
