APRIL 2019
Lights On After School is a province-wide event celebrating after-school programs and their role in keeping kids safe, inspiring them to learn and helping working families.
Lights On After School is an advocacy initiative that helps shines a light on the importance and effect of after school care programs in Alberta and to help programs develop connections with parents, schools, other advocates, groups and businesses in our communities to highlight and expand the importance of after-school programs.
Afterschool programs have proven to be amazing neighbours within our communities, providing a safe place for youth during the critical hours before and after school and focusing on developing youth skills, responsibility and creating engaged citizens working to improve their community. Partnerships around the community can help provide opportunities and chances to connect youth with adults and mentors that they otherwise would not have access to. We want to show the world what Afterschool programs mean for youth, parents, and communities across Alberta!
